My Review and/or Complaint : Outdated system.  right now all staten island zip codes are listed as NY, NY and it will not list any of towns.   You can easily send an order out without any payment and it will not show up as unpaid.  The FTD group has lost contact with us since installation.  I have had so many problems and they blame it on Microsoft. I wish I never invested in this system and can not wait to end it.  Cathy

On June 10th 2011 our shop had a pre-scheduled meeting with two of FTD's Technology Sales reps to talk about the possibility of us purchasing the new FTD Mercury X.3 POS system. The two friendly gentleman did a good job explaining the superiority of the new system over our existing FTD Advantage system. To that end they did a good job.

The following day I decided to look more closely at the hardware involved in the new FTD Mercury X.3 via the paperwork they left. Thereat, I discovered that their new system resides on an old Windows 2003 Server. Moreover, the paper work indicated that we must purchase the Point of Sale computers through FTD and that they would reside on the outdated Windows XP Professional.

Once I learned what type of hardware the new FTD Mercury X.3 software was powered by, my interest in purchasing their system quickly faded. After a phone call with my rep explaining the deal breaker, I sent this follow up email:

Hi Shawn. Per our conversation, here's some links and quotes to help you understand why this is a deal breaker for us:

"On July 13, 2010, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003 R2 will transition from the Mainstream Support phase to the Extended Support phase. Extended Support for Windows Server 2003 and for Windows Server 2003 R2 will be available until July 14, 2015."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On July 14, 2015, all Windows 2003 support, including security updates and security-related hotfixes, will be terminated.[27]

According to Florist.Wiki.ftdi.com regarding Internet Explorer, the minimum browser requirement is:

"Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later is required." (see:
http://floristwiki.ftdi.com/index.php/FTD_Mercury_X3_Installation_Instructions)

However, that is not true. Both the Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP are not compatible with Internet Explorer 9 (i.e. IE9). See here for reference:

I can't seeing paying around 14k for equipment that is already a decade old and not compatible with modern times.

I'm sure you can understand.
