My Complaint : I ordered flowers for a male friends funeral on Feb. 16th, 2012.  The picture looked great, carnations with greens and some tall snapdragons.  The arrangment was the worse I had ever saw.  There was what looked like left-over pink and red carnations from Valentine's Day, a few greens and shoved in a vase. A monkey could have arranged these better. I emailed them twice, and finally got a reply. They could substitute any color they wanted as stated in their policy, not I'm sorry you were disappointed, or even a sorry. I will never do business with them again. Stay away, unless you want to be disappointed too.

My Complaint : I must retract my complaint, my parents received their flowers today and said they were beautiful.  I never did receive a conformation email or a response to my email inquiring about the status of the order, leading me to believe that I was going to have the same experience as the other people on this complaint page.  I'm glad I didn't have the same experience but still feel horrible for all the other (almost daily) complaintants on this page.   Chery

My Complaint : How I wish I'd read this page before I ordered from this jacked up company!!! It's my parent's anniversary.  I ordered some flowers this morning (because they make it SO CLEAR on their website that they do same day delivery)I've yet to receive a confirmation email and the delivery day is almost over!! My mom says the flowers haven't arrived yet and I doubt they will after reading the other omplaints, but I'm sure my account will be charged promptly.  How do you people stay in business?!!  I'm so dissapointed and feel terrible that my parents didn't get their flowers.  And then for you to be rude when people complain and try to get their money back!!! You ought to be ashamed of yourselves for treating people this way, but obviously customer service is not a concern to you.  I will tell everyone I know to NEVER do business with this company

I am thoroughly disgusted with your company, and as of the many complaints I have read, I am not the only one. I wish I would have seen these complaints before I solicited your services.

If you are not going to "deliver" as you promise on your website, then you need to shut your business down before you are made to.

I had better receive a refund to my account within 5 days or I will take legal action (just so happens I work for a law firm). THIS IS VERY UNFAIR, DECEITFUL & UNACCEPTABLE!!!

My Complaint : i called to have flowers delivered to my fiance in southfield Michigan for valentine's day. i called over 24 hours in advance placed the order and gave u the destination of where i would like the flours to go. comes around when she left work and called me she never received her flowers yes your company did take the 78$out of my bank account i called numerous time was on hold for hours and the lady says to me well i have to check with the driver and call u back.. no call back your company does not care and i want my money back. i look on my bank account and the money was taking out in texas. i dont know where u got the destination mixed up from michigan to texas!! i would like a full remburcement and if that cant be arranged it is fraud for your company to do this.

My Complaint : This is a copy of the email that I finally sent at 7:31pm 2/14/12 after phone calls & assurance that the florist would call me back.  

"I'm sorry, but this company seems to have a serious communication problem in addition to a delivery problem.  

I ordered flowers for my daughter, Laura, to be delivered on Monday (not Tuesday, and not for a Valentine!) to her office!  The arrangement did not arrive Mon nor did it even arrive today!  I talked to a Gina for the original order and to an Amber this morning regarding the non-delivery after being on Hold from 8:23am to 9:10am when I hit #2 for an inquiry about an order.  I then called again and hit  #1 to place an order and was answered in 5 min by Amber.  She was very apologetic, (both your Cust Svc reps were delightful women who took their service seriously) took down all the info and said someone from the flower shop would call me today.  I gave her my work number where I would be till 6 pm but I never received a phone call.!!!!!!   I got home from work and called at 6:55pm, hit #1 for orders and sat on hold again untill 7:07.  Called again to a different number on the website,  no one answered, just music playing, same voice saying everyone was busy, and then got a recording

that no one was able to take my call at this time and to please leave a message after the tone - which I did.  Was it your company??? I don't know - the "everyone is busy" voice sounded the same.  

I'm so disappointed in your service.  I want the order cancelled and I want my credit card credited with the full amount of $56.28.  You, of course, will not get my business again as this is totally unacceptable.

Googled florists in Gastonis, NC and Merit Florist was on top. Didn't know they were located in Texas.  Called them and asked for an arrangement between $40-50 for a man.  Got the bill and it was over $72.  Did not get an emailed confirmation of the price.  Manager, Ann, was rude and talked over me saying the conversation was being recorded and take it up with my credit card company.  My credit card company, Bank of America, took $40 off the charge.  They are eating that money. I just wanted a reduction (maybe $20-25)from the florist.  I was not refusing to pay, I just thought the price was WAY over what I asked for and what was received.

I ordered 2 expensive arrangements for Valentine's Day

from my 2 sons for their fiancee/girlfriend as they are at sea. I did this on the 8th of Feb.  As of 8pm this evening neither one of them have received their flowers. On top of

this, the samething happened last year with one of the orders. I want my money back!!!

On a side note, my 3rd son ordered from 1-800-flowers with

absolutely no problem.  Wish I had done the same

My Complaint : I order a fruit basket to be delivered on Feb. 14th and then went back and asked if it could be delivered on the 13th instead and they e-mailed me right back said they could do it.  My complaint looks painfully familiar to all the others on this page wish I had looked at it before ordering from this company I will do my best to report this to anyone that I can!

I also am going to dispute the bank charge today!

My Complaint : Ordered a flower arrangement to be delivered to my daughter who just had a baby in Carson City, NV.  First, the flowers were supposed to be delivered on 2/11.  It is now the afternoon of the 12th and no flowers! I have called (got the same recording about heavy call volume) and emailed Merit and have no response. She is now getting ready to leave the hospital! I checked my Visa account and the amount charged was more than what I was quoted on-line.

I would never do business with this company again!

My Complaint : I placed an on-line order for "Under The Vine Planter" $49.99 on Friday, 2/10/12.  I received a message on my cell phone that the Pothos plant was not available at this time and I needed to return the call within 30 minutes.  The caller left an 800 number and order number for reference.  I called the 800 number several times and just got a recording that the volume of calls was high and to go on-line to service at merit.com and fill out the form.  I also did this but the order number that was given to me did not work.  The number was to be a number sent to me by email which I never received.  After several tries I finally talked to a representative late Friday afternoon and she took all the information and asured me that a representative would call Saturday morning.  I told her that a Peace Lily would be fine to send but I needed to know the cost before the plant was delivered.  I never received a call and again, after several tries to get a "live" person I finally

reached someone.  I explained my situation and after a few minutes all I got was "hello...what...sorry my phone messed up and I did not get all your information"!   She finally said that a Peace Lily was to be delivered today.  I asked what the charges would be and it was $70 something.  This is much more than I wanted to pay and I asked her to cancel the order and then she put me on hold for 3 minutes and someone else picked up my call and said she would cancel the order and get my money back????  This is such poor customer service!  I can understand not having plants available but no one ever tried to help me through this problem.  This plant was to be delivered for a funeral and it is 11:40 a.m. on Saturday and it is too late to place an order for delivery today.  I will never contact this florist again.

My Complaint : I searched for a florist online and placed an order on 2/3 for a funeral arrangement, Beloved Grandmother, Love, The Hillery's and Boykin's.  My debit card was charged $132.04, which posted on 2/6.  I provided the name of the deceased, Helen Walter, and the funeral home, Alexander Tuthill in Wading River, NY.  The wake was on Sunday, February 5th, and there were NO FLOWERS.  I expect a full refund, or I will have my bank dispute the charge.  Please contact me ASAP to address this matter!!!

My Complaint : First of all I was not given an order number, and the woman I spoke to on the phone seemed to have a problem finding the item number I wanted.  I had ordered the Boquet For Baby Boy with the Pewter Picture Frame , size large for $59.99. When we went to see our new little grandson, I was very disappointed that the arrangement was not what I had ordered!  The flowers were the same, and very nice, however there was no picture frame, instead a chain with three charms on it.  I had seen that arrangement on your web site when I chose my arrangement, and though it was nice, I did not want the chain and charms, I wanted the pewter picture frame with the clear vase.  I tole the woman when I placed the order that it was #17162 and the specific name and description.  What happened?  I didn't say anything to my daughter and son in law as they said they thought it was cute - but it wasn't what I ordered. I expect a response from you on this matter!

My Complaint : My order was never delivered!  Most of my family lives in the northern NJ area and I have yet to find a reliable florist.  They either don't deliver

My Complaint : This is quite possibly one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. 

My flowers were not delivered, but MeritFlorist.com challenged me on my claim.

I spent a week calling there number (1-800-253-5311) to get a refund. A message at that number said it would be faster to email them ( at support@masdirect.com) if I had an issue with my order. It wasn't. 

I finally spoke with a person at the end of last week. I asked for a call back that I did not get, so I emailed again asking for a full refund. 

My card was finally refunded at the beginning of this week. 

However this morning I received a call from the customer service person I spoke with the previous week saying the driver had delivered the flowers and that MeritFlorist wanted to charge me again.  

My flowers were not delivered!!!

The flowers were meant for my wife on her birthday. She works in a small office park with a clearly marked business name. If the driver hired by MeritFlorist delivered flowers anywhere it was not to the address I gave them. 

They took the driver's word over mine and refused again to refund my card. 

I agree with LuAnne below, I have never experienced such horrible customer service!

DO NOT BUY FLOWERS FROM MERIT FLORIST (meritflorist.com)!!!!!!!!!

My Complaint : I have never had such horrible customer service! I will never again order from Merit again. I canceled an order that had been attempted for delivery but no one answered, I asked if they could go back and just leave on door step, I was told they would not and could not do it until the next day. I found another florist who would deliver that day so when I called to cancel my order I had to talk to the supervisor who THEN told me they would reattempt delivery, too late by that time that was all I asked for in the beginning. They deliverred any way and then when they found out I was NOT going to pay they went back to the yound injured girl whom I bought the flowers for and asked for them back but the girl refused to give them back she had no clue what was going on! I told them I was not going to pay for them since I had to order from another florist, they said they would contact the police, press charges on the young girl for not returning their property....wow! I am NOT a

complainer but this was something I have never experienced before. They did not care about my continued business which they will not get now and I work for a company where we are always sending flowers....they were more concered over $60 worth of flowers!

My Complaint : This company was the WORST company ever!!! Our best friend's father suddenly passed away and we ordered a basket of flowers online.  We were told it would be red flowers instead of yellow which was fine.  This $80 embarrassment was hardly worth $20.  It was in a vase not a baske.  It consisted of maybe 4 roses, probably 2 other flowers and some filler.  All the flowers were wilted and to top it off the card looked like a a 4 year old typed it!  Our last name was on 2 lines and words were typed without spaces!  I was mortified!  When I called to complain they were rude and obnoxious.  I said the picture online was much fuller and a basket to which I was told flowers are seasonal and I didn't order a sympathy arrangement.  I asked what that had to do with their bate and switch tactic of the picture being MUCH nicer than the product to which I got no answer.  I guess it's because they feel they can just do as they please.  I seriously hope anyone considering using this

florist reads this first because they were AWFUL in every way!  Terrible product and terrible people!

My Complaint : I placed an online order on Saturday 1/31/2011 with Merit Florist at 11AM to send a plant that day to a friend whose Mother had passed away the day before.  I received a message from them on Tuesday saying they did not get the order out.  I assume they did.  Just a note to anyone using their service, even though the order appears to go through, you may need to call them to see if they are even open to complete your order.  For me, I just won't use them again.

My Complaint : I am so disgusted with this company and the entire attitude of the staff.  My young nephew went into the hospital Christmas Eve with pneumonia.  I called Christmas Day and spoke to a very nice person who took the time to make sure my order would be deivered that day to the hospital. It was not delivered!  Today, 12-28 I receive a call from this so called shop telling me there is no one at the hospital with my nephews name...he was sent home 12-26!  She proceeded to tell me they do NOT work on Christmas and was sure I didn't either! The total lack of caring and attitude was uncalled for..yes I got mad and was passed to 2 other workers who had the same flipping attitude the first one did. They did however have time to take the money out of my account but didn't seem to feel it was important to deliver my order or call me before today!  I did request my money back and will NEVER use them again....we'll see how long it takes for them to return my funds = I'm sure they will be off for New Years!!!!

My Complaint : I ordered a sympathy reef on 12/5 to be delivered on 12/10 for my friend and it was not delivered.  I called on Friday to change the location and was told to call back so I did and kept getting the same voice message to I left the message with the information and they did not deliver.  I called Saturday, emailed, texted and about to call the National Guard and no one would call or email me back.  Today Monday at lunch, I call and apparently spoke to a supervisor who was the rudest, most unprofessional person ever.  She was no supervisor and would not let me speak to a manager or anyone else above her.  She then terminated my call.    I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND I WILL LET ALL MY FRIENDS NOW.

I ordered Bear Hug With Pink Roses + shipping to be delivery on 11/21/11 and I was told by the customer service telephone number at 800-253-5311 my order was canceled on the same day if the shipment because it was out their delivery range.  Now how would I know that, the web designer does not have it red line you with a message or a pop up to say out of range.  Yet it let you complete your order, process, confirm and give you confirmation #. OKAY...$15.OO DOLLAR DELIVERY CHARGE AND IT SAYS ORANGE, TX AND ORANGE IS NOT THAT BIG.  I WILL NOT USE AGAIN and will tell others. I was very hurt and disappointment. I did not give the person the flowers while they are alive.  I glad nobody died.

My Complaint : I was very disappointed with Merit Florist's advertising and what is was actually delivered:

I ordered a "Birthday" flower arrangement with a matching balloon, for my daughter who is in the military.  I ordered this arrangement from a picture, that was on Merit's website.  It had a cobalt blue vase with a matching colored balloon, that said "Happy Birthday."  

There was no mention at the time of my order that they did not have a cobalt blue vase!  Later, they left me a voicemail saying they did not have a blue vase and would proceed with a clear one.  It was Halloween yesterday, and I did not receive the message as I was decorating my yard and getting ready for the children.  When I called back today, they said the order had already been sent and also said they hardly ever have blue vases.  So, I asked why they would advertise that arrangement with a cobalt blue vase, isn't that false advertising?  No,the lady said they state clearly on their website that they can make SUBSTITUTIONS.  SO, POTENTIAL BUYERS PLEASE BEWARE: the picture you are using to PURCHASE FLOWERS FOR YOUR LOVED ONE,  MAY NOT BE WHAT YOUR LOVED ONE RECEIVES. WHICH IS QUITE SAD. I also talked to a supervisor, with no satisfaction, and so  informed the supervisor I would not be using their company again.
